The Nigerian Media Innovation Program (NAMIP) hosted a workshop on Investment Readiness on March 24, 2025, led by Davies Okeowo from PitchHub. The workshop covered essential aspects of business fundraising, equipping newsrooms with practical knowledge, and tools to navigate their funding journeys. Participants received a combination of theoretical frameworks and practical examples, allowing them to develop insights tailored to their specific funding needs.
The session hosted over 50 participants from 24 media organizations within the NAMIP cohort, primarily comprised of CEOs, program directors, sales personnel, and business development leads. The participants were committed to gaining a clearer understanding of the various fundraising models and how both large and small independent media outlets can effectively pitch to local and international investors as well as the various fundraising models. This is part of their larger effort to attract funding and diversify revenue streams while maintaining editorial independence and public trust.
